Spec Sheet - Racing Mackerel

The first carbon fibre fish sculpture in a series of fish sculptures, drawing similarities between game fish and F1 technology.

All parts and materials used in this sculpture are from the BAR and Honda Grand Prix cars as listed below.

Sculpture limited to ten pieces.

Body: Carbon fibre, 2X2 Twill 0.5 mm filled with two part polyurethane foam used in the making of drivers seats.

Dorsal fin: Floor stay aero rod part number 040 D2 034, Olivier Panis 2002 Monaco GP, covered with vac ‘heli’ tape used for bodywork and wing leading edge protection.

Marking detail: 0.2 mm aluminium aero tape, used on 50% wind tunnel models. 0.5 mm polished aluminium punched buttons.

Jaw and fin detail: 1.75 mm 50/56 rolled aluminium welding rod used in the welding of oil and water radiators header tanks.

Caudal, pectoral and pelvic fins: 1.25 mm NS 4 coated aluminium with nylon detailing used in the manufacture of oil and water radiator end tanks.

Soft dorsal and anal fins: 0.5 mm titanium with wire detailing.

Exhausts: - 3 titanium hydraulic fittings with shaped aluminium tubing.

Eyes: 70 75 machined aluminium plugs.

Underside beacon: Rear torsion spring guide stop part number 040 005 069, Olivier Panis 2002 Monaco GP.

Gill covers: 0.2 mm aero tape with needle rollers from gearbox hub bearings part no BRG 000 310.

Mounting base and rod: Permaglass underside plank used at the 2002 Monaco GP chassis BAR 040/04 with cat flap reaction rod, part number 060 A1 069.
